Does anyone know how to post an image on this blog -- e.g., a jpg? --Everly
Yup, Kerdlyn just showed me how to post pictures to posts. Just upload your pix onto: http://load.imageshack.us/
Click on "host it." Then, cut and past the link corresponding from "thumbnail for website" into you post. And BAM, the picture will show up in the post.
By the end of the satellite broadcast and accompanying hands-on learning activities, participants will be able to:
1. Tell the story of how the way we as public health professionals do our work is changing as technology evolves, and how we must adapt to successfully meet the needs and wants of the changing health care consumer.
2. Describe at least two technologies that public health professionals can use to help them be more creative and efficient in the work that they do. (Some examples may include but are not limited to: text messaging, interactive online games, virtual reality, MP3 player for survey administration, video conferencing, Webcasting, podcasting, hand-held devices for quick audience survey responses/feedback, computer-assisted telephone focus groups, blogs).
3. Describe at least two real-life and current case examples of public health professionals applying new technologies to enhance the work that they do. (One example is Alameda County's mass dispensation virtual reality drill).
4. Understand how they can personally apply and tailor at least two technologies in their own work-related activities. (One example could be using self-filmed video and placing it on one's organization's Website and accompanying it with an interactive activity.)
5. Participate in at least two interactive new technology tools that can be used in public health practice.

The site may not allow posting anything other than text. Even if a site allows it, there can be size restrictions.
Are you already feeling the need to add visuals?
Not critical -- just an idea for now.
I think we can only post texts and links. I think only pictures and videos can be added to the website frame.
What about posting the image to an outside photo site. Kerdlyn suggested Image Shack. We can link to the image from the blog.
